End80 Follows Not Far Behind
Upgrade report: "I got some stuff just as nice as that.. like the plants and those rocks."
So, we'll have another rock station.

Well, actually it just talk radio.. and plants.. and beer.. or rum. But no rocks.
Occasionally tequila, but that usually turns out regrettable. Maybe a burrito, or a can of beef stew.. What are we talking about?

Glad That Came Up
Let me check what thread we're in... oh, it's the Studio Talk thread! Good. Since studio is a place of study it will be acceptable to talk about alcoholic beverages, not to mention that some people indulge in a drink while in a studio.
A couple years ago I was corresponding with a former bar tendress in Alabama who became a lawyer. She liked gin and tonic, and I told her that all I know is beer and wine, so we came up with an idea for Blare OnAir...
Four shows got produced on the topic of Mixed Drinks, her formulas and knowledge, and me with bottles of booze and proper drinking glasses... trying to complete each show before going into a haze.
Tequila smelled to me too much like something an insane doctor would use to make his patient pass out for a long time.
I only tried one type of rum, which was very bitter, but now wonder if there are certain rums that are more "semi-sweet". Maybe this is a good time to find out.
I hope you will share knowledge about rum.

What About the Rum?
End80 went off on the wrong trail: "I never knew Flotilla was a lawyer."
No, no, she's not... Flotilla DeGlued is my impersonal assistant. The only advice she ever gave was "Don't get in over your head."
Ya but rum.

Sounds crazy, but why not an O-scope? Cheap enough, does the job, looks cool and will drive the YL nuts as well.

I have always wanted an Oscope, but then I would have to learn how to use it. They do look very cool and obviously very useful, and I thought the same thing, but I wonder, when it comes to buying a second hand Oscope, do they require maintenance and recalibration or anything like that to insure they're accurate? - I mean are that a gamble to buy second hand? It's kind of like I really want a nice reel to reel tape deck, and have bought a few over the years, but unless you buy top dollar it tends to be a real crap shoot.. or at least it has been for me.

got a scope and did setup modulation with it but would like a quick visual indicator that everything is OK in the mod dept. rather than leaving my scope hooked up all the time wearing out the display.

Used scopes are readily available a decent prices. In fact new ones for that task a cheeeep as MAD Magazine would say. www.amazon.com/DSO138-Digital-Oscilloscope-Analog-Bandwidth/dp/B01LZ7BCL3/ref=lp_393269011_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1486580661&sr=1-4

Carl, I'm no expert on rum, but I like plain olé rum and coke, usually the cheap stuff like Castillo.. but not Ron Rico, that stuff taste strange. Occasionally I'll have a few Captain Morgan and coke, which I like a lot, but if your in a bar it starts getting expensive real quick, so I stick to the well brands. The coconut rums are real good and nice and sweet and a lot of cool concoctions can be made with them. A rum white Russian is delicious (I don't like vodka) and the thing about those is that they don't taste like they even have liquor in them and can get you drunk before you know it because they are so smooth that you don't realize how much liquor your actually drinking.. they are like a heavenly dessert.. and if you really want some dessert try a some drinks made with RumChata, man oh man.
That's the best I can do, that will be $4.00 please.

Oh come on! $23 with free shipping??.. Not what I was expecting. I recall years ago when looking into scopes there was something particular I was suppose to be looking for.. some certain capabilities or something, I can't remember what it was but I had been instructed to make sure it was a particular type of scope for use in reading AM modulation, I was told not just any ole scope would work. Do you have any idea what I'm referring to? Do you know for a fact that the scope you link to would be correct for this porpose? I know nothing about them at all, never have used one.

Bum Rush
$4.00!!!
Most people only charge .02-cents for advice. What's with the steep cost?
Now if I try your suggestions I'll be $4.00 in the hole.
Speaking of holes, I'll say something about O-scopes a little later.

Any 'ole scope will do. Even a 5 mhz scope. You are simply looking a carrier modulated at an audio rate. Here ya go: www.am1000rangemaster.com/setmod.html
