Hour Lecture on Streaming by TheLegacy
I got it!
Turns out Chairman Bob is right... it IS possible to download from DropBox without joining.
The next step will be to listen to Troy's lecture, which is good for me because I am trying to learn more about streaming.
Columbus Day will be a perfect time to listen!
By the way, the link is up above and anyone else can listen.

Bad MP3 File
Hello TheLegacy.
Troy, Audacity refused to recognize your mp3 "Lecture" file and would not load it.
The "Lecture" caused VLC Player to freeze up.
In Zara it loads with no "time" length and will not play.
It is a defective file.

I did test it after I uploaded it to the Dropbox. It plays just fine. I don't know that I kept the original file however but anyhow I'll have to download it again and see what the deal is.
Another reason for this could be something with Dropbox. I know that you can stream it perfectly so which you could do is use a program such as replay media catcher.
God I hate the thought of redoing this file. It would have to be done when things are quiet around the house and I've got an open mind to actually do it again.

Troy, if you have a copy of your Lecture file that plays for you then it's good and doesn't need to be re-done.
I think you mentioned that Dropbox might have a problem... maybe it doesn't allow full downloads for non-members.
I'll try it again.

Here's the Story on DropBox
So, I went back to the DropBox listing provided earlier in this thread for TheLegacy's Stream Lecture, and left-clicked on it...
It does not play audio but instead pops up a "Join DropBox" window.
Then again I right-clicked it and looked closer at what I was able to download... it is a Firefox page that is also a "Sign Up" window.
Therefore your mp3 file is NOT broken!
I don't remember exactly why I decided never to join DropBox... I think it had to do with reading that they distribute private information about their users.
