Well, do they? It seems the resident hobby agent at Part15_us is a tad bored. This post has been on the forum for a week or so now with no response from members, I really don't feel the need to entertain him right now or ever for that matter. He has brought up the subject of using 1710 Khz I suppose to stir the the pot again, i think we had this conversation before. Is 1710 khz legal to use for part 15 blah blah blaaah. We all know what the fcc has to say about this by reading the rules and yet out of boredom the Shrew has brought it up again. Could it be that he has no one to nit pick with and wants to start a conversation (argument) about the legality of using this channel just to satisfy his urges to continually harp on the rules? Perhaps he needs another hobby? His current hobby of pointing out members violations is no longer fulfilling a need to be constantly right or just. I am right now, resisting the urge to say, "Look Rich, several members and even non-members of Part15_us are using 1710 khz for various reasons, don't you think that if the FCC had a problem with this they would have contacted the station owners by now and remedied the "problem". Why the constant need to play Mother Hen to members of this or any other forum?" To which i answered my own question with "because it isn't about the rules, it's about the attention. Whether it is good or bad attention he receives, it is still attention" oh that sort of makes sense, Said Barry. And i added, " Isn't that post an attack on those station owners?, it seems personal now." I think so anyway. Here is the post: www.part15.us/forum/part15-forums/general-discussion/1710-khz-legal-unlicensed-am-setupsWhy do we have to re-visit this again and again?

No Interest Shown
I also have been keeping an eye on that 1710 thread over at the other part 15 site.
It is the answer to a question that no one has asked.
And out of its own pointlessness it asks "Why would anyone use 1710?"... when it hasn't been established that anyone is using it.
I talk about using 1710 but am I actually using it? This is the age of "alternate facts" and I don't even know whether I'm using 1710 or not.
87.7 is another matter, but it hasn't come up, so I'm not about to bring it up now.
There is a famous Shakespeare story "The Shaming of the Shrew".

HAHA The Shaming of the Shrew. Well played Carl.
I use 87.9 for my scanner. The scanner gets great reception from upstairs in my bedroom but i cannot hear it downstairs without either turning it up loud and annoying my family with it or stringing an external speaker with long wires which would annoy my wife. So instead of annoying anyone around me i have a cheap little fm modulator tuned to 87.9 FM and the scanner is plugged into the modulator.
Anytime i want to listen to the hams, sheriffs dept, road crews, random gmrs/frs traffic etc etc, i just turn on an fm radio and tune to 87.9 FM and within that modulators 500 foot range i can listen to what's going on in Perry County. Am i really doing this?? As a matter of fact, YES. Rubber duck antennas suck so elevation is the key to better reception aside from buying and installing a wide band scanner antenna which i don't have the money to blow on right now.
I get bored too but i don't get so bad off that i have to pick a fight with a random person. Which is essentially what the Shrew is doing in this case.. Maybe he should take up bungie jumping?? lol
P.S. what would the Shrew have as a hobby if Part 15 was no longer allowed??

More Dirt to Be Dug
Mister Blue Bucket wonders: "What would the Shrew have as a hobby if Part 15 was no longer allowed??"
Here's one idea...
Agent Shrew would take it for granted that tons of people were continuing to operate illegally and his main problem would be to figure out where to find them.
He would start with known players from the past, such as us.
We would hear a lot of sniffing from the tapered snout.

Flimsy Threats
Part 15 Engineer confided: "Bill over at HB.net threatened legal action as well on me if i kept trying to view his site."
To establish grounds for suing over viewing his site he would need to post a warning on the home page such as:
PERSONS WHO VIEW THIS SITE MAY FACE LEGAL ACTION FOR HACKING. THIS SITE EXISTS NOT TO BE VIEWED.

What the resident agent is saying there is that 1710 has a different rule than the other AM frequencies which is not very useful at the power allowed there so why go there to begin with.
But yes, his only interest there, it seems, is just to comment on something if he can read the riot act and recite the rules. Wonder if he actually engages in this hobby at all? Wonder why he doesn't post on the Facebook part 15 site as there are a whole lot of rule breakers there.

In my humble opinion and I could be dead wrong but this country has a lot more important things to worry about than whether or not someone is transmitting on 87.7 and 87.9 megahertz or 1710 kilohertz Their not used and as long as no interference is being caused why the hell worry about it.
Here is something people need to worry about and that is terrorist are getting closer and closer to our homeland. Has anyone actually heard about the Muslims and Canada and the things that they did to the Canadians over there? But we're still worried about 487.7 and 87.9 megahertz and 1710 kilohertz.
We're going through changes that is for sure some people will continue to use those frequencies because well they're blank and because well they can and will do so.

Actually, the recent Quebec Mosque shootings were done by a right wing nut who was a well known Trump supporter. Muslims were the victims, not the perpetrators.
If you look at mass shootings in the U.S., your typical killer is more likely to come from a suburban Christian Church than anywhere else (including the 7 countries on Trump's travel ban list).

As an official Resident Hobby Agent he could become the Donald Trump of the Part 15 Facebook site. There is a lot of alternative factoring going on there. He could post his paper blizzards plus charts and graphs without having to go through the trouble if posting first to Photobucket. Mark your a genius. Have you considered joining the Church of the Subgenius? subgenius.com/

Sub-Genius Witness Knocking At the Door
Druid Hills offered the best advice to Mark: "Mark you're a genius. Have you considered joining the Church of the Subgenius?"
Druid Hills is not joking about this.
I joined the Church of the Sub-Genius and it didn't change my life. Which is what I was looking for.
Reverend Ivan Stang talks before thinking, and usually never gets around to thinking because he forgets what he just said.
KDX Worldround Radio carries the Hour of Slack every Sunday morning before skipping church.

I wouldn't call myself a genius in fact far from it but sometimes I can come up with a good idea.
