KDX is a Part 15 Group of Radio Stations Started in 2007It's been about ten-years of all this, operating multiple streams and transmitters from the Internet Building in the Center of North America. KDX has always been a welcome success bringing outstanding programming to its audience which is of course myself. For several weeks our Website Hosting Server has been going through a change process, and I've already posted about it several times, but not everyone has gotten the message. Temporary Website NameOur two domain names... "KDXradio_com" and "Worldround Radio_com" are in a state of transfer and will eventually be re-connected. Very important, our E-mail address has changed! New E-mail Address for Carl Blare and KDX: figurehead@charter.netThe Low Power Hour Archive is temporarily off-line for an unknown length of time. We are uncertain what we should do about it. Any questions anyone might have can be posted here or e-mailed to me. Your radio friend, Carl

Perhaps make an email account at Google.com which will which will give you a Drive account, upload Low Power Hour files there. Google Drive is where i store some files i share online here at TheAlpb.com and the Skywarn Spotters forum where I am one of the moderator.
Google Drive offers 15 GB free storage, i have only used 7 GB so far. I am not entirely sure how much space all the Low Power Hour shows will take and I guess i could look real quick since i believe i have all of the available episodes. Hang on let me see......6.9 GB is what Linux says in the bottom corner of the file folder. Google Drive is fairly easy to use, i minimize the folder and the browser so they are two small boxes side by side then drag and drop files into Drive.
But that might be less for you since i see some of the Blare On Air (blare light) programs mixed in there.
Or there is Archive.org
Just my thoughts on a Sunday afternoon.

Thank You Barry
Archive_org is one possibility I know about and a lot of programs I schedule come from both there and radio4all_org which is another place many producers use.
I had never previously heard of the Google Drive resource, but I will look into it now.
The KDX archives are presently on harddrives, CDs and thumb-drives, and could maybe be downloadable from right where they are, but I need to study the risks of exposing the master library.
This kind of "storage locker management" is part of the thrill and adventure of operating a radio station in the 21st Century!

You're welcome Carl,
Recently I re-aquired the whole Iron Maiden discography, that is every album they made since day 1. Not only are the CD's rarely used but they all have been recorded into mp3 files and stored not only on the station pc , but also a laptop and thumb drive. It has been my experience that if you rely solely on digital storage for saving files, eventually something like a hard drive failure can cause all of those files you wanted to keep to suddenly become unobtainium.
Gone forever, that very thing happened to me when i lost 30 + episodes of The Little Things Radio Show. I was devastated to say the least. One thing i have noticed, DVD RW discs are getting harder to find, or is that just for my part of the country?
I suppose i could buy another external hard drive as a back up plan. Currently the station pc has a 1 TB hard drive and I haven't even made a decent dent in that yet.

Drat Them For Doing It Every Time
Barry woke me up on the question of CD RW Drives: "One thing i have noticed, DVD RW discs are getting harder to find, or is that just for my part of the country?"
Oh not again... how much obsolete formats and discontinued connectors and out-sized circuit-cards can the junk box take?
My CD RW drives are from the pre-Blue Ray days and I hadn't anticipated they would one day be out-of-fashion.
If they keep this up I'll take my business elsewhere.

KDX Online Changes Going Slowly Well
On Sunday (yesterday) we received word that our domain names have been successfully transferred into our control thus ending a 10-year tie with a large commercial website hosting provider.
To be completely fair we have complete praise for the service and received exactly what was promised over the years. The one issue was our own small status as hobbyists maintaining expensive real estate on a corporate business website. KDX is not a business, although in the early years we considered going into business as an option we held open for awhile.
Connecting our domain names to our new smaller website is presently within our control, depending on when we figure out how to navigate the controls provided to us. But there's no hurry.
If anything can be put off to tomorrow then that's what we do.
