In a recent post here somewhere a few of us was talking about sleep. And speaking of sleep, I just read a fascinating post over at Arcane Radio Trivia;
It's about DJ Peter Tripp host of "Your Hits of the Week" who in Jan. 1959 hosted an on air in the studio 'Wake-A-Thon' for the American March of Dimes. He stayed comstantly awake and on air for 201 hours straight. He stayed on the air, but behind the sceens things were getting ugly, and he experienced permanent personality changes.

Never understood the crazy things people do to raise money for a cause. Marathons, eating contests, staying awake for 200 hours, etc.....why not just give the money to the cause?
And the nuttiest of all is a hunger strike...huh! how does that accomplish anything except hurting yourself.

I recently read that the U.S. Navy SEALS would mandate sleep after 168 hours otherwise permanent brain damage or death was ensured. In a recent post here somewhere a few of us was talking about sleep. And speaking of sleep, I just read a fascinating post over at Arcane Radio Trivia;
