The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB is Saturday, January 7th at 7 PM Eastern Time. Wow how the time flies! I'm supposed to get this notice out a week ahead of time but this time of year is busy enough not to mention I started some remodeling around the house while I was on vacation. Member Carl of KDX Worldround Radio placed a notice on this forum earlier this week, thanks Carl. There's been some talk about concentrating on the positives of this hobby and leaving the negatives in the previous year. Yeah! We need to concentrate on everything leading up to the transmitter. Quality sound and good programming is the focus of The ALPB. Now that's not to say forget the transmitter system but honestly, if you think you will blanket a mile radius with a commercial signal strength-you've been misled. If you have a very efficient system it's not unheard of to be receivable at 1 or 2 miles (AM Part 15.219) but not on your common table radio. Reginald Fessenden is touted as being the first to broadcast a program of speech and music in December of 1906. He did this on a frequency of 50 kHz with an effective radiated power of 200 milli watts. I hope that we can be as excited as they were to be heard a short distance away. I'll hear you at the meeting. Bob-MRAM 1500
