Radio Characters
A favorite dimension of mine over the years is that of "radio characters".
A radio character can be as simple as one radio performer's style, like a DJ who has a special way of talking and acting that is not like his normal street personality.
Still others, like Bob and Ray, Jonathon Winters, Phil Hendrie and a few more develop fictitious radio characters who have names, contrived voices and goofy personalities.
Over the years I've built a catalog of odd characters complete with names and attitudes, and these are always growing as if they had lives of their own.
My upscale gentry couple are Pookie and Romney Vandeventer who live in the sub-basement just off the parking garage of Trump Tower.
Every year on Thanksgiving Pookie volunteers as a server at Meals For the Homeless, and recently encountered one of her homeless persons during a holiday shopping outing.
HOMELESS GUY: Hey, Mizz Vanvent, your turkey sure good alright, any chance I get more?
POOKIE: Don't you people have any common sense? Is this Thanksgiving? I think not. You should learn your place.
Meanwhile, back home, Romney was reaching behind his comic book collection shelves trying to find his Playboy Magazines from 1950.
ROMNEY: Drat! Pookie must have found them. Bad luck!
