So Many Programs Have Bad Audio
I whine about it because I want it fixed! So many otherwise great radio shows (or "podcasts") are wonderful except for bad audio.
It's not so hard to learn how to record voices properly, but I guess some people don't want to bother or maybe they have hearing damage or their monitor speakers might be poor or their decisions about bass and treble are really stupid, dumb and just plan asinine.
The biggest problem is lack of upper mid-range and high frequencies, which are extremely vital for voice clarity on radio.
Another common problem is phase distortion usually because mics are too close together and when mixed a terrible skew causes upper sibilance range insufferably unintelligible.
I'm sick of putting up with it and if it continues I'll walk out and no one will ever see me again!

I have a habit of attenuating a narrow band centered on 400 Hz when I do voice overs. It started out trying to eliminate that typical boxy room resonance but I think I sound better doing it.

Mister Admin:
On the next Blare OnAir that you attend I will have a question about your audio quality trick.
Right now I'm heading over to the Be On Blare OnAir thread to announce maybe doing a show if the time is right.
