Hello Barry and Stephanie in the Mountain Valley.
I read on part15_us about your "hot" monitor.
As jarring and traumatizing as it was, here's what I tend to think about when such things happen.
It happened at a reasonably convenient time.
By that I mean, it happened while you were home, alert, and very much on-guard".
The only parallel event that increased the moment of tension was the school bus schedule, but you handled that gracefully without scaring your daughters.
Because of your experience you were able to narrow the problem down to its cause and remove the danger.
Maybe it's ending up being a lucky year.

I hope so, 2016 has been rough on us to say the least.
That monitor is still sitting outside on a metal patio table waiting for all the other electronic garbage to join it at the landfill soon. Still not sure what was breaking down in it and as old as it is i really could care less, the main thing is it never caught fire. I guess I'll get a monitor for Christmas lol I am using another Dell monitor that is the same age as the one on the patio table, instead of let it go into standby i just turn it off now. No sense in tempting fate again.
Thanks
