This is for Dj Troy of the The Legacy but, if anyone else has information on this subject please by all means chime in.
Troy,
What website handles your in-stream ad's for The Legacy FM online? I am seriously thinking about opening a commercial online radio station.
Before anyone says i am wasting my time, there are a handful of online stations taking advantage of this and are successful too, some were groups that tried to save a terrestrial station but were unable to, they turned it around by going online with the same format, complete with advertising, news, weather and public affairs.
Financially, my wife and i have been struggling, i'd rather take a chance and fail than to never know if it will work or not.

Another Great Idea To Follow
You are having interesting thoughts, Barry, and I often think about ways of attracting advertising to both the website and the radio streams.
We already have a great example in Tim in Bovey who has real advertisers on his part 15 station!
I think about infomercials, those long-form advertisements that seem like programs... a lot of licensed stations fill odd-hours with them and there are several companies that produce them.
The craziest idea of mine is to think about a totally commercial station that had no programs but only played wall-to-wall ads at all times. Sounds like a silly idea, but it might be unexpectedly popular.
I think if we got ourselves known by advertising agencies and merchants there might be a goldmine waiting to be explored.

I go through DJC Media. Wes Simpkins is a very good operator of the program called adswizz. With this program you can save on the cost of royalty licensing. Go to DJC media.com you'll want to contact Wes and tell him that Troy from the Legacy sent you. I have an official affiliate link which I will have to find and put that up which will send you to the exact place you need to sign up. I think that With that information he should be able to help you out.

Don't Forget a Handout from God
Religious organizations are dripping with cash and some of them do buy radio airtime!
Even though I haven't gone on a sales mission I have it in my head that KDX airtime is available to religious programming for $250 an hour.

Producer of InfomercialsYes, here's a company that actually produces infomercials. Their name shows a good sense of humor. Ho Hum ProductionsAnd here you can really get into it with a visit to Infomercial Hell

The ads that Djc Media puts in the audio stream are from the likes of Walmart, AT&T, Guitar Center, Geico, REI, Home Depot and a host of others. It depends on where the listener lives as to what ads they will get. I had listeners in California get ads from Google.
I think this will be a new trend where as Internet Radio will become more geared towards a targeted area for ads.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the ads inserted into the audio stream just pay for the stream copyright fees. A station taking advantage of this would still have to sell ads locally to make any money. And that's the challenge.
