The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB will be Saturday November 5th at the new time of 7pm Eastern Time which will still be Daylight Savings Time here in the Homeland. The switch to Daylight Savings time is the first Sunday in November. Meeting time will remain 7pm Eastern Time after the switch which means the UTC time will move one hour.
It was decided to move the meeting time at the last meeting. In addition we will start out with casual conversation and the business portion of the meeting will commence at some point afterwards.
At the last meeting Carl Blare withdrew his motion to modify the Charter. He had requested language regarding a statement that The ALPB does not monitor stations for the purpose of reporting non-compliant operation. It was decided that itemizing what we do or don't do to be listed in the Charter was not practical. Rather, some type of "FAQ" section will be added to The AlPB website which could list this type of information.
It has never been nor ever will be the purpose of The ALPB to monitor or report the activities of stations for any reason to any regulatory agency. The purpose of The ALPB is simply to improve our license free, low power broadcast stations by helping each other with programming and technical help.
It was also decided to allow The ALPB Facebook page to remain. Troy, "Legacy", as 2nd admin in charge of the Facebook page was able to remove some questionable posts which it was felt could damage the reputation of The ALPB. Comments and graphics related possibly to encouraging "Pirate" activity were removed. It was also brought out that individuals felt the Facebook page was of value as it has brought attention to The ALPB resulting in new members.
I'm sure there will be some confusion regarding the new meeting time so again the new time is 7pm Eastern (DST for now.)
I hear YOU at the meeting and thanks for your support!
