The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB is this Saturday, October 15th at 9:00 PM Eastern (DST) Time. We are discussing possibly adding an item to the The ALPB Charter. A motion was brought out at the last meeting in September. The motion called for language stating The ALPB does not report station activities to any regulatory agency. The motion was tabled until all members could be notified per the Charter. It was again discussed at the October 1st meeting and tabled for further discussion. There was a good discussion with pro and con opinions. One problem is until we have a final version of the text to be added to the charter a decision can't be made. Perhaps this will be finalized at this Saturday meeting. We had a new member attend the last meeting and are hoping for additional new members to join in. What? You want to JOIN THE ALPB? Simply read over the Charter Document found at TheALPB.com. If you like what you read, download and install the TeamSpeak Client program (link found at TheALPB.com) and let me know. I'll send you the TeamSpeak server address and password. That's it! Nothing to sign, no dues or commitment other than to join in. As always, Thanks for your support!

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to attend the meeting tonight. They're calling for a big storm this afternoon, the remnants of a typhoon whose name escapes me right now. We're going to get heavy rain and wind - they've already scheduled the cancellation of ferries between the mainland and Vancouver Island for later today, well before it's scheduled to hit!
So I'm going to batten down the hatches, and turn off my electronic equipment, as it's highly likely there's going to be power failtures/spikes.
I haven't changed my mind about the motion since my last post - I don't support changing the charter to answer any questions that people might have about the ALPB. I think that it's more appropriate to put those kinds of questions/answers in a FAQ, which can be easily modified and/or added to as the needs arise. We're opening up a whole can of worms if we start modifying the charter to answer questions.
So, if you'll accept my vote in proxy, then that's it. Otherwise, I've said my piece.

I'll be present and accounted for, as usual.
