I don't want to talk about it in great length, however, I came into these part 15 related sites as an enthusiastic part 15 hobbyist and have had enough of the HB like rants over there at part15.us. I no longer feel that site is user friendly and is another HB in disguise. This was meant to be a HOBBY nothing more, not what many make it out to be. Slam me here and I'll leave here to, but I am sick of the HB attitude that has spilled over at the other site, I sadly thought was another cool place to hang out and talk about everything radio related. Funny the HAM radio sites don't dwell on the legal crap all the time and thus ruining every thread like what happened at the last two sites I hung out at which was HB then part15.us. I can publish one hell of a rant here about the licensed, full power, full service FM radio stations that get away with all kinds of crap, and prove my points effectively, but hey, only hobby radio has to follow the rules right? ?? You will never see me at part15.us again! Too much like HB for my health. Bruce.

Make This Your Home
MrBruce you can move in here at the ALPB forums and stay here from now on.
You are a radio man, part of the ALPB, and have experiences and opinions that are fine here.
Part 15 people might be going crazy because of being an endangered species that is quickly disappearing from the world.
In times to come the only part 15 will be Wi-Fi and the people then won't know what we're talking about when we try to tell them about the great radio hobby from the past.

Mr Bruce, I believe you've over reacted by leaving Part15.us. But of course, that's your perogative. From my perspective, your opinions are welcome over there. But if you're going to have a website whose basic premise is legal Part 15 operation, then talk should be focused around legal activities. There are plenty of other sites to discuss pirate activity (which is what anyone operating a 1 mile range FM transmitter is involved with, whether they're aware of it or not).

Listen Guys, I am not pro-pirate by any means and do not think those that do it help legal part 15 operators by any means, but what is ridiculous is the hush..hush about what if. There is no room for experimental talk, even if it is just that (talk).
If anyone breaks the law because they have misinterpreted what is legal and what is purely wishful thinking, then that misinterpretation is based on their ignorance, not that of a person just speaking of what if.
I visit many HAM radio sites as well as many forums related to HAM radio and never see a person talking about his station get slammed with the legal crap, I am sure HAM is limited in many ways, but there I don't see the assaults I see on AM and FM broadcast band related sites against the posters or topic creators.
Over at part15.us I see too many topic closed because of the back and forth bickering by those who don't even want to speak about possible change, and right out say you're dreaming a pipe dream.
It is those people I can tell you right now, are against any change for part 15 period, whether its a greater allowance in antenna length on AM or increase in power on FM.
We all know their vote is "no" to anything that allows part 15 AM or FM any more power, antenna length or height, etc.
The Part 15 hobby hosts a small community of people, who venture past using part 15 devices for personal use, and when you have 3 that say yes and 3 that say no, the chances of any change will never happen. Some people are just stuck on no, no matter how you try to present it or word it and it is those thick-headed people who ruin the hobby for those who see a need for change, specially since things have changed since the initial rules were written for part 15 devices.
Bruce.
