Anyone heard of this new operating system for old hardware called KolibriOS? They say this OS will fit on a floppy disk (now you just need a floppy disk and a computer that has one) www.xda-developers.com/modern-day-operating-system-floppy-disk/It's not a Linux build or anything, it's actually an entirely new OS build. I haven't looked to close at it but it has standard stuff like word processor, image viewer, and web browser. If you could install some kind of program automation, it might could be used for a dedicated station operation using minimal resources. Just a thought, dont know if its feasible. YouTube video

Haven't heard of that before but I did buy a USB thumb drive that has an OS with a suite of typical apps. I believe it may be Linux. It acts as a bootable hard drive. They claim it gives "new life" to old PC's and laptops especially if the OS drive has failed. It was cheap and it does work. I only keep it as a backup.

Yeah, I think this one works the same way, it's a bootable. From watching the video, it kind of had Windows 95 feel about it. Its impressive that the entire os is less than 2mb.
It's free. Open-source with apparent ongoing updates for the last few years.
