A walk around the neighbourhood in Canada with A BETS-1 certified Decade MS-100 transmitter and a Sangean MMR 88 receiver. Had to do this and not get people or car licenses in the picture.

Very nice demonstration.
Any signal reports from your neighbors? I'd be curious to know what kind of building penetration you get at specific distances.

I have a couple of known regular listeners the 4th and 5th houses down from me and they get it fine, even when I was on AM with a Procaster but I gave them better radios. I give out a radio to anyone who would be a listener.

Are you permitted to use an external antenna, or must the antenna be fixed to the transmitter?
In which case, you could mount the transmitter/antenna assembly outside up in the air a bit.

The antenna has to be connected directly to the transmitter. The transmitter can be anywhere. The Decade has a proprietary antenna adjustable to the length for the frequency you are on but can't have a coax and antenna in another location. You could do it similar to AM like the Procaster with the audio and power getting to the transmitter from inside but the transmitter would have to be in a weather proof container and you'd have to have a way of rigging that up. But still water could run down the sections inside the antenna inside the box.
