Today, I've just finished my first Alexa app, to stream the station, and submitted it for certification and approval to Amazon. It was a fairly painless process, using a template by the good folks at Dabble Labs, and their "Audio Streaming Example". It is another way to expand the footprint and listenership of the station, when over-air might not fit the bill.

After submitting the app for review 3 times, received a notification this morning that the skill was approved. Everything is on-track. However, there is always work to be done.
Hope everyone is doing well and healthy.

Now I don't have an Alexa yet, but it's great that you can program for them and make an app for your own station, it has me thinking..

I'm glad that I've gotten you thinking. If I had known creating the skill was going to be as easy as it was, I would have done it sooner.
The only thing I wish that I could, easily, include is NowPlaying information. I guess that is something that I'll have to look into.
BTW, if there is anyone who would like to include Nowplaying information, from their streaming station, or combination streaming/on-air station, like mine, on Twitter, I would recommend and easy free way of doing so, if you have the bandwidth. It does require a third party app, but it is free, called WACUP, which is much like WinAmp (but recently updated).
