Instead of hijacking the thread called talking sign as I posted a few comments because of my experience with the BroadcastVision FM-TD FCC certified part 15 transmitter. I made some comments about what the agents from the FCC told me about the Decade going 1000 ft to 1700 feet until complete fade to Black and because of the cleanliness the agent said that that is not a problem when you get the transmitter high enough.
there has also been lots of trolling going around and I do believe it's on purpose regarding am part 15 Broadcasting making claims that you cannot go 1 + 1/2 - 2 miles. Even though I have made plenty of posts regarding the contrary to that statement.
Now thanks to a good friend of mine who was listening on the shortwave radio band on his channel has posted ham radio operators talking about their range on their part 15 transmitters. They also mentioned the isotron antenna.
I also posted regarding Michelle Bradley on her Facebook forum entitled parked 15 AM &FM hobby Broadcasting. In case you don't know she was one of the people who helped to bring LPFM into a reality fighting with the n abs attempts to squash the efforts at every turn. They still troll LPFM stations looking for any minoot rule-breaking. We're talking about the way that they do underwriting for people who donate.
I'm Michelle Bradley's forum she tried to make it sound like it was illegal to build your own antennas 4 part 15 transmitters that are certified. Though this might be true for FM it is not so true 4 a.m. I even had a discussion with Bill Baker regarding that particular statement. When you build an antenna though it could break the certification but it's still is not against the rules sense you would be using the same length. You can use different shapes it doesn't have to be a vertical antenna either. It seems like at every turn instead of promoting The Hobby there seems to be little jabs against what most operators have done as a child.
We have had issues with another website making jabs about range on the am broadcast band which once again this person makes claims with very little merit but yet when it has been proven on pro casters website and rangemasters website this particular person seems to holler the contrary.
With the coronavirus and more churches wanting to get into the legal license free broadcasting area I would think now is a good opportunity to start a crusade for a service most likely on the am broadcast band allowing at least 5 to 10 watts for a general user Radio Service.
What really makes me disappointed though is when I see the folks in are very Hobby making statements and pretty much agreeing with the dark side so to speak. We all have to work together and I can understand some of the folks that want their little 10ft range to their antique radios not to be harmed. This is why we're talking about a separate service but yet one that would be either sign up for and easily obtainable Grant or simply making the am broadcast band accessible to general use.
I am hoping that maybe if the folks in our own community here don't step up to the plate that this coronavirus could pave a new way where people who don't even know about the hobby have enough guts and it seems like the church people do to ask for something of more power. And wouldn't that be a kick in the fanny if we actually got it but from folks that are not even hobby radio operators that asked for it and actually get it. The kick in the fanny would be I told you so.
