Sad to announce Twistin' Tom Ball passed away this morning, March 12, 2020. Tom hosted two programs on our LPFM, WCFI-LP, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Those programs were Just Plain Folk and Bedtime Snack. The programs featured local, national and international talents.
Tom's career spanned decades in the music world hosting radio and live venue events. His nickname came from the fact that he danced The Twist on stage with Chubby Checker. He was a regular at the Akron, Ohio Rubber Ducks baseball games where they would have him sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game."
Although he was local to the Akron, Ohio area, he worked here with musicians from around the world. He helped launch the career of many artists and bands through his radio programs and live venue events.
Tom would always end his programs by saying "See you Soon-See you on the Moon." We'll be thinking of Tom when the moon shines bright...
