Jeff of Station8 advises work is progressing on his revolutionary antenna for Part 15 AM broadcast use.
Currently the prototype has shown excellent results. Several manufacturers are being contacted to see if one of them can produce the antenna with repeatable results.
The road block there is finding a manufacturer willing to work with a small project, as this is still in the research and development stages.
The antenna design meets the current Part 15.219 physical size constraint and yet shows impressive gain characteristics.
Since Part 15.219 is not concerned with field strength, antenna gain should be of no consequence.
Beta testing of the antenna will hopefully begin soon. This will allow testing the antenna performance at several different sites under different conditions.

Jeff Is an Industrial Powerhouse
When Jeff Station8 set out to gather every part 15 manual and all related documents to both new and old part 15 devices since the beginning of the earliest tube units, he worked many hours a day every day until he had not only gathered all the data from many contacts, but managed to gain permissions to post most of it at thealpb(dot)com.
Others had tried to do this sort of thing but stopped short of sticking to it, making Jeff the most accomplished person in the field of data collecting for part 15 information.
At the present time Jeff has a backlog of yet un-posted part 15 data being held up by computer and signal problems in his area, but we know that this added material will become available sometime soon.
Meanwhile, Jeff Station8 has been running laboratory experiments to develop smaller and more efficient antennas for part 15 AM, and I for one am extremely excited about Jeff's projects.
I have believed for a long time that the large wavelengths and massive antennas traditionally associated with AM are not the only solution, and that someday somebody will discover more compact ways of radiating medium wave signals.
Jeff intuitively understands this as well and is working on it now.
The rule literalists are scoffing and smirking, but there will be pie on their face one day soon.
Thank you Station8.
