On the Rangemaster forum at www.rangemaster-forum.com/page/ it refers to correspondence between Keith Hamilton and the FCC. Anyone have access to the document itself? Since it's correspondence between a transmitter manufacturer and and the FCC, it should be available for public release.

The omission of the fact of a can per OET-63 use homebrew transmitters or assemble kits so long as the install meets part 15:219 or 15:209. 15:209 deals with field strength not power in Watts or milliwatts.

Thanks for bringing that up Legacy, I notice that some entities try to drop subtle hints into conversations that it's less legit to build a kit, but in fact, kit building and home-brew has been encouraged since the early days of Part-15 and phono oscillators.
There can be great rewards with kits and homebrew, such as learning how radio works, greater pride in your radio station, and cost savings.
Today we have so much access to circuit schematics and parts to build with at low prices, it's a builder's paradise now!
