Making up tails for an AudioArts R60 console on another site -The manual specifies the Paladin 1645 crimper as the appropriate tool for 22 AWG Belden 9451. My decades-old Paladin 1645 has gone missing - Anyone know for sure if the Greenlee 1645 is the same die? (Greenlee bought Paladin back in 2008) Edit: Found the Paladin 1645 at BSW - www.bswusa.com/Tools-Paladin-Tools-1645-P4272.aspx

I was discussing the above job with the customer, they are requesting that I put a heat shrink boot with channel numbering on the end of the Belden 9451, an insulating sleeve on the shield, and a second numbered heat shrink sleeve on the blunt cut end (that will be cut down down on the blocks)
Since I need to order these custom, and my customer is going to cover the set up charge, would these be useful to anyone other ALPB members?
Format would be: Channel 01-A, Channel 01-B, Channel 02-A, Channel 02-B, all the way out to Channel 24-A, and Channel 24-B

Update: Ordered the parts to make up harnesses for an R60 console for a "customer", and eventually set up our R60 on a patch bay. If you are curious, here a link to another R60 user doing the same thing: While all are are readily available from Wheatstone, here are the third-party part numbers: - PLUG: Digikey A14115-ND (alternate Mouser 571-16405220)
- FEMALE SOCKET CONTACT: Digikey A14197-ND (alternate Mouser 571-6413001)
If for some reason you want to make an extension cable for a given channel: - CAP: Digikey A14105-ND (alternate Mouser 571-16405120)
- CONNECTOR PIN (MALE) : Digikey A14199-ND (alternate Mouser 571-6405451)
The connectors are in the Miniature Rectangular (MR) series. Link: www.digikey.com/catalog/en/partgroup/mr-miniature-rectangular-series/25833Our hackerspace, The Institute for Exploratory Research is next door to the CDL studio, we use their benches, layout gear, and tools for our tech projects. They even have a pneumatic crimper for connector pins, however I'm not quite ready to spring for the tooling (die set) for this series of contacts, so I'm using the Paladin 1645....
