Well I guess I am OK as I have never drank coffee but what are the credentials of the person who wrote this?

The Writer's Creds
We'll have to send our ALPB investigator to find out about this writer and his negative claims about coffee.
Last month I read that seniors aren't supposed to drink wine or beer, and the month before that warnings about salty snacks.
Why would anybody exist if we can't have those things?
Radio stations always have a grungy coffee pot and the sales departments have a streamlined percolator and evening meetings with the station secretary are based on "Let's get together for coffee".
Mark, what kind of recreational drink do you have for daily use... soda pop?

I wouldn't take all that seriously as the writer of this article doesn't specify he/she is a doctor or has credible education to take this as fact. I personally don't need any stimulant, drug, etc, to enjoy life or for recreation.

Building On the CaseOur ALPB Investigator has sifted through the coffee article and points out that points 2, 3, 12 and 13 (of 13) provide links to related material that provides added credence to the overall message. The authorship of "The Coffee Deception" is attributed to "hqanon" with no further references given. The ALPB investigator has traced the author to this website: Body of Work by hqanon

In response may I present: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/270202.phpThat and the fact that I'm still alive and fairly OK. I have been a morning radio show host or "DJ" for well over 40 years. Morning radio does not happen without coffee. I have consumed, by myself, a full coffee maker of black coffee 5 days a week for 40+ years. I don't find any of the OP article's symptoms affecting me. Now, two years ago after suffering severe reflux for a couple years my doctor told me "the three biggest causes of acid reflux are cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine. Since I don't drink or smoke, I figured cutting back on the caffeine would be a good idea. So as of two years ago I've started making coffee at work with two scoops of decaffeinated coffee and one scoop of the real thing. I figured there HAD to be SOME caffeine in there! And the results have been perfect. If the benefits in the above referenced article are true, I'll probably live forever. TIB

Excellent Outlook
I'm strongly inclined to believe that the solution found by Tim, custom mixing the right amount of caffeine, is the ideal way to have the best of two worlds.
Matter of fact I have wanted to do the same thing with alcohol, except that there is no "de-alchoholed" drink to mix with the alcoholed version.
Oh, I guess non-alcoholic beer could be mixed with regular beer, or grape juice with wine... I suppose those people who do mixed drinks have the combination...
Anyway, I'd do what Tim does with the coffee. Recommended by the ALPB.
