We Are Not Perfect ListenersTo find out how we rate on the "5-levels of listening" we must first read the linked article. Problem is, according to me, we are also not very good readers. Do the best you can. The 5-Levels of Listening

At least as important as the skill of listening is the skill of accurate comprehension of what is being heard, or read.
That can be quite difficult when engineering concepts and appropriate education are required for accurate comprehension of the subject at hand.

Well Said
Rich illuminates terrain which the article glossed over: "The skill of accurate comprehension of what is being heard, or read."
Despite all its many details, none of which we are actually disputing, the piece seems to assume that if one merely achieves all 5 levels of good listening they will have qualified as a "good listener".
But despite all of it we are limited by our ability to comprehend what we are told. But it's not always our fault...
Sometimes a speaker (or writer) lacks the skill of speaking at the comprehension level of his audience and "goes over his head" so to speak. I do this all the time.

Albert Einstein possessed the ability to make the most difficult concepts easy to understand.

Brilliant!!
Druid Hills quote of the day: "Albert Einstein possessed the ability to make the most difficult concepts easy to understand."
YES HE DID! Gawd Ahmighty Professor Einstein was ever so good at telling the story of deep thought and science!
Here's what to do. Look on Amazon, your favorite book store, or the library for various books of letters and essays written by Einstein. They are the kind of books to read many times and live a full, happy and successful life!
The ALPB goes all further education!
