Seeking Home Steam Shovel Group
Steam shovels have always held me by the fence at a construction scene watching the powerful shovel-buckets bring up tons of mud and rocks.
I'm trying to find a hobby group that features small home-sized steam shovels that could be used to dig trenches, pool excavations, foundation extensions and whatever.
I've graduated from hobby radio and have measured my 3-meter antenna for the last time.

Hotel California
I like watching construction and seeing the details of how it's done, and wondered how many chests full of money are found by construction crews and what they do with them.
You might want to look up the film 'Dig' from the mid-1970s, it should be on Yu2ube, and it's about a city kid and his puppy who are sent to the store to pick up something for mom, takes his bike and passes a construction site and stops to watch. It's quitting time and the kid explores the dig and meets a talking rock that shows how the earth is built.
I saw Dig on TV, and liked the sort of animated psychedelic imagery and spooky soundtrack, by Quincy Jones. I forgot who the movie maker was, but he was more underground and made a few other animated films with those expressive characters.
Right, there are forces in this hobby who would have you measuring your antenna every day to their satisfaction, if they could. Maybe you only check it once a week, but you can appease your stalkers with fake news.
