People Are Dropping All Around
In our time we have seen people brought down for various reasons.
There is a wave of #METOO bring downs that continues to enlarge the ranks of unemployment by faces previously familiar in politics, TV, movies and radio.
It is also possible to be "brought down" over simple Tweets (unless you are you-know-who, but we're talking about anyone else)... take for example a local (not far from KDX) conservative talk show host who Tweeted some words during his "off hours" and now finds himself out of both a radio and TV job, nationally disgraced because publicity made its way to the networks and major publications.
Can these people ever hope to make come backs? Is there come back after bring down? Because they're familiar to the public there might not be any employment for them at all, not even at the bottom!
By contrast many in top government are promoted for their crimes against humanity and cruelty toward the poor.
Lest you think that we are safe in the low power hobby because we are already down and couldn't be brought any further down, remember our fear of being mistaken for a radio pirate and wiped out of the neighborhood? If that were to happen we have the legal system to represent us in an effort to have our radio rights restored.
Our attorney, Stag Pinstripe, said, "I will work on your behalf until you run out of money, then please don't call."

I remember how dumb I thought it was the first time I'd heard of a host getting in trouble for their views expressed on Twitter off the clock. I thought, 'Since when does tweeting have any meaning to anyone's life, that's just something you do to kill time on the internet.' I still think it's more of a game, like reading People Of Walmart or playing Hot Or Not with celebrity photos, but since the President uses it, I guess it's become a more legit extension of one's self. Metoo might be some sort of modern hippie movement designed to sweep out old ideas and people who are blocking the advancement of the youth. It seems like a fight against the establishment using technology, like pirate radio was in the 1960s. People seem to want to just get rid of Bill Cosby, and forget about the huge body of entertainment and education he produced for decades. My conspiracy theories for the day.. Boomer
