This paragraph catches our attention:
"Others, like "Radio" Mike Depraida, 60, keep choosing to return. The native New Yorker was living the fast life as a consultant and photographer but grew weary of the hectic pace and an apartment building where he didn't know his neighbors. A chance visit with friends three years ago got him hooked on the Slabs, and he's since become the perpetually tan guy in a polo shirt who operates a radio station and greets travelers with a gin and tonic at his makeshift tiki bar."
We need to talk to this guy and find out his power and frequency.
Considering it's on solar power it might be pretty low. I'd guess FM since it's pretty easy to set up, but imagine the possibilities for AM radio, and I guess they don't have a TV station or internet, so radio would be a lifeline there. Call in requests by CB radio.
MrNaturalAZ is in Arizona but also moves around. He hasn't attended an ALPB meeting for awhile, but he provides a pleasant reading experience on his website.
IN OTHER BUSINESS, those running Shoutcast Server V1 look at the version number of your server software. You may not have the very latest one they released just before closing down their Nullsoft downloads.
The latest of the latest is SHOUTcast Source V 2.3.2 (Build 190) which, in addition to allowing up to FOUR separate Shoutcast Streams, allows AAC format if desired. It will run either V1 or V2.
If anyone needs it place your request in this link and I shall pass it along.
