With the arrival of 2016 Worldround Radio KDX is beginning a total infrastructure overhaul.
It's Monday morning and two of our Server Transmitters have been closed for experiments and changes.
Down for now are Transmitter Server No. 1 - Icecast 64 kb/s mp3 stereo and Transmitter Server No. 2 - Shoutcast 32 kb/s AAC V2 stereo.
Webcasting continues on Server Transmitter No. 3 - Shoutcast 16 kb/s mp3 mono.
As well radio transmitters have been closed including Ramsey FM30B at 89.5 MHz and SS Tran AMT3000 at 1550 kHz.
Radio broadcast has been opened at AM 1680 from SS Tran AMT5000.
Beginning with the Icecast Server we will update from Version 2.4.99.1 to Version 2.4.2.
KDX Worldround Radio is a noncommercial radio service operating within the boundaries of the Internet Building Campus in the Center of North America and externally by Streaming Transmission.
KDX is a Member of the ALPB.

I'd just be happy to get my AM carrier current back on the air. Relocating to my new studio/shop is taking much longer than anticipated.
I did finally move all of my woodworking power tools out, just could not coexist with the electronics; saw dust not good.
My streaming and FM are still operating.

FM?
MRAM, my 8-bit memory-bank does not remember your having an FM transmitter, although it is likely you have mentioned it.
Is it a known brand? What results are you hearing on FM?
And I remember many sawdust experiences from the past, and look forward to little metal pigtails from drilling holes in the aluminum box for the Big Talker Shortwave Transmitter.
Difficult to do sterile surgery in a workshop.
ABOUT 3-HOURS LATER -- Oh, you must mean WCFI-LP. Of course.
Some interesting things have turned up, of interest to all radio streamers, which have come to light in my SHOUTcast Server Tests.
First I'll describe this round of testing, then the interesting news...
I unchecked the "Make Public" choice on my 16 kb/s SHOUTcast mp3 mono server and observed that it no longer lists on the SHOUTcast YP Directory, but it can be selected and listened to from the Muses Flash Player on my website. It makes the stream private to my website only.
For comparison the AAC SHOUTcast stereo server was checked "Make Public" and was listed on the SHOUTcast YP Directory.
Now the informative news.
As most of us know, SHOUTcast is now owned by radionomy(dot)com, where the About page reports:
"Radionomy, SHOUTcast, TargetSpot, Hotmixradio and Winamp are all part of the Radionomy Group.
"Finally SHOUTcast is entirely free.
"SHOUTcast plans to monetize 55,000 radio stations."
Perhaps this is the business opportunity for your streaming radio plans.

I do have an FM yardcaster. It's one of those un-branded Chinese jobs. It's supposed to have a 5 mW output. It has a collapsible whip antenna about 20 inches in length. I can hear it well for about 300 feet on the car radio. At 500 feet it's pretty well gone.
I settled on 93.5 mHz based on Radio-Locator as being a good frequency and so far it has been.
The pilot tone is a bit higher than need be but doesn't seem to cause any audible problem. Usually the pilot tone should run below 10%. This seems to be more like 25% and I don't see any adjustment for it.
I bought this new on Ebay for $10!
