Attending were MRAM, Admin (Artisan Radio), jimhenry2000, Johny, neil, carl, cthuskyman, thelegacy. station8 came in at the beginning (before the meeting formally began) but had computer problems and had to leave. part15engineer joined us after the meeting formally concluded.
Overall, it was a very positive experience. All felt that the ALPB should continue with its defined mission, and if anything, add to it.
Tribute was given to our outgoing Chairman, MRAM. The meeting had to be paused for a moment while he wiped away his tears.
Each attending member was given up to 5 minutes to speak about the ALPB, what they felt it should be and do, and to bring forward new ideas. Details will be published in a separate post.
One of the most significant results of that discussion was a motion to move the business portions of the ALPB to the Forum. The Teamspeak meetings would continue as scheduled, but would be primarily social in nature. The motion was passed 4 to 2, with 1 abstention. 1 member was not present for the voting. A new Forum Board, entitled ALPB Business, will be created, along with the requisite processes (which are currently being drafted, and of course, input will be welcome).
The other result, which will be the first test for the new business processes, is that we as a group need to develop a procedure to elect a new Chairman. That will be the first thread in the new Board, and every ALPB/Forum member is invited to participate. One member, cthuskyman, has thrown their hat into the ring and will run for that position. I would think that we will also need a Chairman Candidates thread.
It was emphasized that ONLY business should be discussed in the ALPB Business Board. Any off topic posts will be deleted, or moved (when appropriate) to other Boards in the Forum.
Keep your dial on this station - more details and the start of the changes will be coming over the next few days.
