A Radio Play
To bring back the art of radio drama I am working on a script and maybe you'd like to contribute ideas to help make the story long enough for a full hour.
The story begins in the near future as computers take over all the blue collar jobs making millions of people unemployed. Computers in closets take over all the executive management putting all the white collar workers out of work.
Although large corporations are able to produce consumer products very inexpensively, there are no consumers because nobody has disposable income.
The government finally does something that today is only talked about, they start sending people a guaranteed income to lubricate the market and again people are able to buy luxuries.
But the corporations become concerned that people use a portion of their income for such things as food and rent, and the executive computers devise a plan to go after that part of the money.
Lobbyists get the law changed and the government assistance is sent directly to the manufacturing companies, bypassing the humans, and corporate profits soar.
People become completely surplus and the politicians, holding the only human jobs left on earth, are concerned that some of those homeless nuisances might seek public office, so a scheme is needed to do something about unwanted population.
At the same time however, abortion is considered murder, therefore people must be eliminated after they are born, which creates unpleasant hoards of single mothers all over the place breast feeding babies in violation of decency laws.
The distinction between being in prison or out of prison fades to the point where gates and doors are removed allowing prisoners and homeless to pass in and out freely, eliminating the need for guards.
Over populated wild pets take over whole cities.
Gated communities are limited to a 200' radius so residents are within range of part 15 stations.
We'll find out what happens next after this word from Dumpster Rentals.
