Our football future

Thanks Carl, comedy and suspense. They simplified the broadcasting and reception process of television, but got the programming right, a vision of future football games on TV! I guess football has become the biggest single event on broadcast TV with the Superbowl.

I liked the apparatus too, real big tubes, and cathode ray tube, that apparently projected from behind the screen. Hard to believe it now, but this movie was very up to date at the time with its depiction of television.

The TV depicted in the following website looks similar to the one in the movie, with the square picture at about the same size and quality, and it also uses back projection, but no CRT.

I like the 1930s movies that make comedy out of how everyone is poverty stricken.. We have so much today, including Youtube that brings us this wonderful old history. A movie theater put up by the average person, people taking the media in their own hands.. It spells hope for our own personal radio stations, as people start to think about expanding their reach and think of other outlets they could use, they might come to radio.
