Closing In On Preferences
Because we are airing out our viewpoints in advance of a meeting, I will share my slate of preferences which might be changed right up to the last minute.
I nominate David C (Artisan Radio), the present Interim Admin, as permanent Admin BASED ON WHETHER HE IS AVAILABLE TO CONTINUE IN THAT POSITION. In the past week DavidC has learned the mechanics of managing the Website and has plenty of previous experience in organizational planning, making him an easy fit for the ALPB.
I propose discontinuing regularly scheduled meetings, with meetings called A.) Upon notification by the Admin, or, B.) A member may request a meeting by contacting the Admin, who will call a special meeting.
In the immediate future, the next few months in 2018, I suggest freezing the website at its current state of development except for any special changes decided by the admin, as a way of keeping the responsibility from being too time-consuming.
Unless specific changes are called for during meetings of the membership I suggest keeping the Forums as they are, maintaining the current setup, which is functioning well.
In the event DavidC chooses not to continue as Website Admin, I suggest Richard Powers as Website Administrator, he being the most talented website designer in our entire roster. It is unknown at this time if he is available.
Member Johny C of RagFM should be considered for a management role if he is available. Johny has been the reliable Recording Manager having made an archival recording of every meeting and storing these recordings.
Member Robert Part15 Engineer has already expressed interest in helping with website maintenance, and also would make a good moderator.
I recommend viewing the keyboard forum and the TeamSpeak meetings as equal components of an overall forum system.
It remains to be decided where the TeamSpeak Server will be housed. Bob Felmly has said his server will remain available at least for awhile, and Robert Part15 Engineer has offered to install a TeamSpeak server on his computer. At a later time KDX Worldround Radio, my own system, will install a TeamSpeak capability which can be made available for scheduled events but will not be open full time.
In general it is my suggestion that the ALPB infrastructure, the website, forums, et al, be run at minimum energy as we allow time for it to grow.
I think we will burn out quickly if we try to do a lot in a short period of time.
Further thoughts will be added during the day.
