Debilitating Influence of ConservatismThe disease of conservatism is behind the ongoing pressure to confine speech and thought to a childishly narrow range of topic. Carl, As a conservative, I partially resent that remark. Think what you will about Conservatism; that's up to you. However, I would suggest that it is no more a "disease" than Liberalism is "a mental disorder" (Michael Savage). It is simply a different kind of political philosophy than the one you, apparently, are used to. Live and let live, my friend...."don't hate, participate"!

I would be a Republican if Republicans acted more like Republicans. Not to get started on a political rant, but "politics is a dirty business", and a strange one as well. :: shrugs ::

To Conserve What?
Husky says: "Live and let live, my friend."
It's not personal.
But you do bring up a true irony. Although conservatives do not live and let live, it is convenient if everyone else does so the Nationalism and such can continue unimpeded.
