Vital Free Piece of Signal Analysis SoftwareThe Orban Loudness Meter is free, installs quickly, and allows precision reading of audio levels going in or out of your computer. Tonight I am using mine to set the audio level of KDX-FM, EDM Transmitter, to match that of the 100 kW NPR FM station. Orban Loudness Meter

I have it, and it looks cool, but I don't really know how to use it yet. More study is needed to understand how to read and apply the readings to something like recording or radio modulation.
It would be good to compare different stations with, the distorted blaster stations of the conglomerates with NPR and college stations and what I have at home. NPR isn't a standard level in my area, they don't always modulate to the max. The blaster stations are probably over-modded by comparison.
My AM goes to 100 percent, but there isn't much comparison on receivers because I'm running higher bandwidth audio than commercial stations.
