The best height for a studio ceiling is C, said an engineer from Universal Studio in Chicago. He was talking about the wave-length of Middle-C.
That would be a good start to my comments but it has nothing to do with what I want to say.
Life in a radio station is envied by many, who admire me for my group ownership of multiple low power radio stations authorized under Part 15 of the FCC rules. A conglomerate of this size could bring over a billion dollars from a Nigerian web hacker who wanted to enter the U.S. radio market.
I still haven't gotten to the point of what I want to write about, and in an unrelated way that's part of the problem. Getting to the point takes time away from my programming responsibilities.
I'll be concentrating on making a point when all of a sudden my program playlist runs dry because I haven't had time to download and insert scheduled programs. This is very frustrating and makes my total success less than perfect while I try to make it look easy even though no one is paying attention, which annoys me because running a radio station is highly interesting but for some reason people don't seem to know enough to be impressed.
Yet no one gets more done than a busy man, followed by doubts about why do it.
I can't do your job right now because I'm not busy.
There comes a point where things stop making sense.

Is It "Gelling" or "Jelling"
I guess the word is based on Jello, so I have now realized what is "jelling" in my sub-conscious mind...
The year is ending and it's time for the annual State of the Station Address, which I do every year to let myself know whether things are better, the same, or worse for running a Part 15 radio station.
It's December 2nd right now, so I have until the 21st, the Winter Solstice, to record the show and post it for listeners.
Wow. To really sum everything up it will take some heavy duty pacing through the halls of the Internet Building, home of KDX Worldround Radio.
The comment period is now open if anyone has any input.

Well, there haven't been any regulatory changes at the FCC regarding the rules which pertain to our situation so in that regard we're no better and no worse.
I don't believe there has been any feverish increase of enforcement actions especially in view of the fact that the FCC first announced they were reducing their strike force, then doing a turn-about on that and finally admitting they have reorganized to become more cost effective while maintaining quick response teams for complaint action. So again, I guess we are no better and no worse.
We all have another year under our belts, time to improve upon what we do so in that regard we're ahead of the game.
We did lose the Talking House / I AM Radio remote antenna unit probably as a result of all the banter over what is legal versus what the local agent opinion happens to be at the time. So, if you have an ATU you're no worse off but if you were looking to buy a new one you have a problem. Whether or not the ATU is legal in the strictest sense probably has not changed as I have not read any action regarding reversing the OET Certification originally granted that system. So, overall we'er no worse.
We are looking forward to more grass roots involvement regarding the push for increased field strength for Part 15 FM broadcast. That would be a good thing. As pointed out though this will be a real uphill climb and when it is enacted will be a sweet victory.
Radio - a five letter word with a rich history, a romantic flavor and a changing horizon. We are fortunate to have the right to broadcast regardless... Let's not lose it for what could be worse.
