History According to Call Letters

While in grade school I started compiling a history of local radio which included dates and changes.

We had the 2nd commercial license in the nation granted to a university station that started as an experimental weather station under the call sign 9YK.

Another early startup was licensed as WEB which, if they'd retained those letters, would make a lot of sense today.

Some stations have never stopped changing call letters as years went by, ownerships changed, and the stations kept moving into different houses and buildings.

Along with it was the history of towers.

Strangely, when a shoe store changes hands and is renamed no one pays any attention.
