That World is One I Know

I know an engineer that has that kind of pride in workmanship.

He was hired by an AM station to install everything as it was moved into a fresh new studio location, and instead of ordering everything new, he took all the banged up, paint-scratched, dented old equipment and rebuilt it in the style of a good auto-body shop complete with professional spray painting and perfect wire bundling.

My skill is somewhat less... I always get the equipment working right but rarely have enough time to make it look neat and organized.

If coffee spills it usually gets cleaned up, but such things as dust and scratches are willing to wait years if necessary just in case I get around to them.
