Morning Jolt
At 5:30 AM I blinked at the computer screen and noticed that the internet was missing-in-action.
The KDX program stream is now on 24-hours-a-day for the extra 1-degree of heat from the server.
Next I learned that the cable telephone was dead.
Curse words bounced off the walls and panic was coming automatically without needing to open my pamphlet on "Beginner's Guide to Panic".
"Life is over and there's no point to it!" I thought, wondering what could possibly fill the time without internet. Well, there are books to read, I thought. And bad radio stations to listen to. Yard work. Lunch. I could hang out at the mall and meet teenagers like Roy Moore does.
But I kept poking at the wound and explored router readings and broadband connection numbers, noticing that I was still connected to an IP address but there was no internet or phone.
It was an hour until the whole thing came back on line and KDX returned to streaming and now it would be o.k. to have an emergency because the phone has a dial tone.
Hey, how's your morning?
