And I Can Prove It
What's the main thing you want to do every morning?
Turn on the radio to find out what's going on in the world!
Not even television brings the same deep sense of being connected.
The only thing shown on TV is that Megyn Kelly is still there.
Radio is everything.
Voices leave nothing unsaid or unknown,
leaving you free to move about sticking to the schedule.
Radio is the world.

That is why we need to save it from going all Digital. I keep reading these secret Nautel bulletins and web meetings all about it. If Radio goes Digital will it have the same value? Should we not work hard to at least save a portion of the spectrum for analog?
Digital Radio or HD Radio has many faults that have not been corrected and in my opinion is not ready for prime time. So why do these companies try and push it so hard? Will the USA go Digital in a few years?
I see signs of this being in the not so distant future because the new cell phones have weather alerts built right into them. This tells me that Radio is about to see a complete face lift. This may not always be for the better.
The overcrowding of FM caused by the on slot of AM translators is in my opinion a half backed plot to encourage this change to deal with the fact that a lot of AM stations want space on the FM dial. Digital may be the only way to support all the sub channels this may require without causing so much interference that Radio is unusable.
If you Google around you'll see plenty of articles on this subject and it doesn't paint a pretty picture. We're seeing some countries closing portions if not an entire broadcast band like MW so did we miss an opportunity to lead the FCC away from that direction?
Something tells me we missed that boat and now seminars are being conducted talking about the future of Radio being Digital. These seminars would not be formed unless a shock and awe isn't about to take place.

Analog is Natural
Our human world is 100% analog unless you count crickets.
Analog radio is real radio.
Digital wireless is fake radio.
Rise up or give up!

When there was a comment section for us to comment to the FCC I could NOT find the place to post. One thing I was going to talk about was saving analog Radio even if it meant that all analog stations would have to take a major dip in power say 20 Watts max to the final RF stage of the transmitter while Digital stations would have the grand piece of the pie with 900kW of power just to get past that 30 mile mark it now only can cover.
If they force all analog stations to drop to 20 Watts to the final I believe that an analog license should no longer be a sell your soul to Satan and give up your first born child or your mortal soul to the devils that be in order to legally obtain one.
Will the public want to buy Radio's all over again and accept Digital Radio with open arms just to satisfy the needs of corporate dictators who only think with their wallet? Human nature says contrary to their belief and here is some examples of this:
Right Now you can buy a Radio to receive FM or AM broadcasts for about $7 at the cheapest. Granted its a piece of crap Radio with absolutely NO FILTERS and forget sensitivity. But it can receive signals from the air which is good enough for some folks.
Now enter the domain of Digital Radio (HD Radio, IBOC) and its a totally different ball game. Your talking at least $125 for an entry level table top Radio. I don't think a transistor or Walkman style HD Radio yet exists so a portable Radio for running to a shelter with is not as easily possible. Oh lets not talk about the fact that it takes more power to receive a Digital signal just as it takes more power to transmit it with the same range as analog.
So will people want to adapt to this beast? I say a big fat NO WAY and this is why smartphone manufacturers and the FCC are making damn sure that you can get the latest weather reports and even news as I've seen news services built right into these new smartphones. The cellphone manufacturers are not going to miss this boat but the public is unaware of the shock and awe its about to face head on and in the dead of night.
We bicker about 15:209, 15:219, 15:239 and call certain folks Pirates and worry all about this silly stuff when soon the only analog signals you'll hear are part 15 stations (assuming your close enough) and do I dare say Hobby Broadcasters who don't play the same game these dictators want everyone else to play.
I think we'll come to a time whereas we need to stop being pacifist (Do nothing) and be a innovator or a leader. We have all these Radio forums everywhere but not enough people writing petitions to the government officials and saying Wait a minute here! Stop everything and listen to what may happen from your next decision.
This is a gime to unite and save Radio as we know it or we'll just have to set on our fannies and watch Radio die a most certain and preventable death. Stay tuned.
