Re-Living a Bygone EraEveryone I know in the low power radio hobby is re-enacting the radio of their memory. Low power forums are essentially anachronistic re-enactment societies like the one Jim Henry wrote about. Jim's group re-enacts the Revolutionary War of 1775 complete with cosplay (costume play) pitting blue coats vs. red coats. The largest such group is the Society for Creative Anachronisms which re-enacts life in pre-17th century Europe. In a certain way those of use in the radio hobby are keeping radio alive as the larger industry morphs into something more robotic and less human. To a small degree we also seek a place in the future with our streaming radio outlets, but for the most part donate ourselves as living museum exhibits.
