The ALPB Is All About Rewards, Bonuses and Benefits
Few ALPB members realize that the TeamSpeak Open Room is available for use 24-hours a day, EVEN WHILE MEETINGS ARE TAKING PLACE. This is possible because the ALPB has more than one meeting room!
What can you do at the TeamSpeak Rooms?
Meet with other members for voice conferences;
Relay a radio program from your computer to another computer located elsewhere;
Schedule an interview with a guest.
The TeamSpeak server is owned and maintained by Chairman MRAM Bob and is kept online almost continuously, except during needed re-boots and technical repairs.
Join the ALPB and watch your standing rise in the community.

Almost Anything GoneAs a low power radio guy in France once said, "If you don't have a right, take a left". He was talking about France having no allowance for unlicensed radio. Here in Tough Talking The Homeland we too are losing our rights. They took away the "Almost Anything Goes" thread and the rate of depression has skyrocketed. But there's always a way for low power operators to figure out how to achieve things that ordinary people don't know about. Blare OnAir No. 520 titled - "Almost Anything Gone" laments the passing of "Almost Anything Goes" Blare OnAir No. 521 titled - "Get Away With It" tells listeners how to use the system to do what you aren't allowed to do and receive praise for doing it. Hi Carl, There's still a difference between the two forums as this one, as has been stated, accepts legal talk from other countries not just part 15 as long as it's legal in your country....I can talk about, operate, and refer to our rules in Canada and the part15.us seems to be more concentrated on the USA only. The almost anything goes has a similar section in the other forum doesn't it? Isn't it topics other than radio? Remember seeing that but it was hardly used. Yes, as you said all these forums are US based and if I knew how I would start a forum based on Canada's unlicensed broadcasting and be a first to have a forum like this outside of the USA. Too bad as I liked the anything goes part.

Serious Thoughts Going Forward
The "Almost Anything Goes" thread was definitely a popular fixture of the ALPB services to members and visitors. I also feel somewhat inhibited by no longer being free to post nutty off-beat stuff that isn't about radio.
But I also completely understand why it had to be retired at this time.
Having Part 15 Engineer's forum site as a place to go for political talk is a tremendous service offered by a member, and I hope it takes over the ground vacated by the ALPB.
Also, as I have posted, members can generate their own POV (Point-Of-View) radio programs and link them here, and those wishing to rebut can produce programs in response, linking them also.
My next Blare OnAir Lite episode, not yet produced, will be a wistful reflection on "Almost Anything Goes" and some of the "sharp edges" that made it touchy.

Another Fabulous Benefit
There is a great psychological reward from the radio hobby.
You may have read that recent sociological studies have determined that loneliness can shorten life.
Laboratory findings from the ALPB have shown that loneliness is impossible with hobby radio.
The brilliant programs and always fascinating technical discoveries of low power radio keep the mind active and involved in a way that would be hard to match by simple human companions.
In fact, if you try to have a social life while managing a radio station, you will find yourself making excuses to avoid spending too much time with the humans.
