The radio looks great, with an oval speaker, and had to cost a lot in those days, but it was the times when people were willing to put money into something they cared about.
Now that would be a good phone or better television.
I like the classy wood grain AM/FM table radios with lighted tuners and LED tuning indicators, from companies like Sony and Panasonic. I guess it was when people wanted FM in offices and at home, and those would fit in with modern wood tone and paneled environments, and had square sharp corners compared to older radios.
