Does Radio Enter Your Dreams?
This morning I had a dream that it was the Monday before July 4th, and I wondered if it was a work day at the station I worked for, and I was driving there because I hadn't gotten the new schedule that was supposed to start July 1st.
Notice how the dream is fusing current time with past time. The radio station has been out of existence since the 1970s.
Seeing that the sprawling parking lot was almost empty I realized the staff had the day off, except for one pickup truck belonging to one of the air guys.
I went in and the guy, a real person but who's name escapes me, was recording a lovely blonde woman singing a song. This guy always was very friendly with women so it didn't seem unusual. I asked him about the schedule.
He said I was supposed to be there for the 3 AM shift but hadn't shown up.
All at once I resented having been put at 3 AM but hadn't received the e-mail.
There's another "time" thing: e-mail didn't exist in the 70s.
About then I woke up but was very disturbed I had missed my shift and wondered if I'd overlooked the e-mail.
See what's happening now? Although awake, my mind was still trying to solve the dream.
Dreams are a reflection of life, and demonstrate how neither make much sense.
Throughout history humans have tried to make sense of everything through religion and philosophy, but they can't do it because life and dreams really don't make sense and we have trouble accepting that.
Part 15 is a perfect example of something that doesn't make sense, yet here we are.
