Position Neutrality
The ALPB is position neutral on matters of broadcasting and world affairs. Which is to say that the ALPB does not align along partisan lines.
This came to light in the early days when it was proposed to declare the ALPB in favor of keeping the AM band analog.
This kind of impartiality on the part of the ALPB is fine because it allows its members to uphold whatever views they ascribe as individuals.
Some ALPB members feel strongly about analog radio, others might envision a world of DRM, Digital Radio Mondiale. These differences of view sit comfortably within an organization which takes no side in the matter.
By the same measure the ALPB has both conservative and liberal members never restrained by "company" policy because the ALPB itself is neither of those two things.
The closest thing to a policy standard upheld by the ALPB is the good faith preference that members abide by broadcast rules of their home authority, while at the same time stepping clear of being an investigative or enforcement agency. Again, this leaves individual members the master of their own circumstance.
