Fine Review
Yes, Dave Richards did a very detailed job of describing his Rangemaster experience. Enjoyed reading the review.

I couldn't remember my pass or he kicked me off. I would not be surprised cuz of some of my stance.
Other than that the review was pretty good and it does show that this transmitter does need a good ground to achieve any sort of useful range.

I've never seen an unboxing of a part-15 transmitter before, and yeah, nice review, and I hope Dave adds more to his blog about it and his other findings.
I agree about the grounding, noticing that effect long ago with my kits on AM. They were isolated from ground that way, being on a battery with a mic connected, and even with the antenna wire connected, it would just reach the room, just seemed weak. When I connected my tape player to the audio in on the transmitter, the signal improved, the player was apparently working as a ground.
I don't know what the range boost was, but it was louder on the radio, wider, obviously a better signal.
