Local DisappointmentThere are six LPFM stations in the database for local dial spots, not one of them is on the air.
Three of them are marked as having "CPs" which means they may be in the process of being built.
One is marked as "silent", but no mention whether they are done or will be returning.
KTGP licensed to the St. Louis Majestic Basketball Club was on the air for a few weeks and because of a well located transmitter on top of a high-rise building had a fabulous signal, went to dead air for a week and then disappeared and hasn't been back.
Whether 106.9 KWEC in St. Charles, Missouri is on we can't be sure because nothing is received, plus a 106.9 is also assigned down near the St. Louis Arch for an Illinois AM station, which we also do not hear.
In the earliest starting days for LPFM there was to be a station across the river in Collinsville, Illinois, but it never made it to the database and may have never pulled up their boots.
Three AM stations here now have "tiny" FM and many many translators pock the dial.
FM radios should have a flush handle.
