Controlling Transmitters From Afar
KDX has been filling a file folder with tips for building a remote control panel at the Central Control Work Station to operate as many transmitter functions as possible without walking around to all the transmitter sites.
Brooce MICRO1700 made a large contribution from the time he rigged his AMT3000 to change frequencies at sundown from 1690 to 1700 kHz. He wired a relay so that when 1690 got crowded at dark, he could push a button from indoors and switch to the quieter 1700 for the night.
Neil Radio8Z has devised a way of measuring the output signal without going out into the rainy woods to his 3-meter mast, as well as metering the current being drawn by the transmitter.
I just visualized a way of getting "re-tuned" after using the "BROOCE Method" to switch frequencies.
The trick is to have several output capacitors and a rotary relay switch so that each variable capacitor could be pre-set to peak at a particular frequency.
