Holy Money Maker
Yes, there's money in Christian radio, even if you're not in Christian radio!
Just be a cheap tawdry Christian "siding salesman" door to door and on-line.
Let's get you started, sign here, I'll need a deposit in cash.

So is that intended as satire, all in good fun, or an official position of the ALPB? Seems rather mean spirited.

Spirited
CENTINEL wonders: "Is that intended as satire, all in good fun, or an official position of the ALPB? Seems rather mean spirited."
Not satire, little fun, not a position of the ALPB and rather than "mean spirited" I would call it realistic, speaking only for myself and not Druid Hills Radio.
If you are offended about it I apologize to you. I do not wish to annoy or offend you personally.

I am pretty sure God does not need help via radio for a few bucks. Having been behind the scenes in Christian broadcasting I can assure you its the most un-Christian business imaginable. Broadcasters if they are smart get cash up front because checks bounce

A Second Look
When I first responded to CENTINEL's words: "So is that intended as satire, all in good fun, or an official position of the ALPB? Seems rather mean spirited."
I responded with an apology thinking my remarks on Christian broadcasting had been objectionable.
But upon further reflection it occurs to me that my statement:
"Just be a cheap tawdry Christian "siding salesman" door to door and on-line",
might actually have been offensive because of an apparent disparagement of "siding" and the profession of "siding salesman".
Although meant euphemistically or metaphorically it is even more important for me not to have spoken badly of siding than it would have been to ridicule religious radio.
Siding is a great advancement in outside wall treatment for home construction, doing away with the headache of peeling paint. The siding profession is every bit as important as driveway asphalt, plumbing, foundation walls and so on.
An attack on siding would be as serious as belittling the home itself.
Jesus of course was a carpenter and throughout the Bible speaks not of siding, perhaps because plastic laminates had yet to be invented.

I looked at that page and had mixed emotions, laughs, thinking of both sides and what kind of communications is being practiced between them.
To me it's a sales pitch doesn't come across as sincere in the least bit. I guess the hardest word I could use would be "pandering", or maybe, exploitation.
The page is historical, since it talks about the LPFM window, yes, I wanted to be educated, so I read the whole thing.
I had a buddy one time who indeed was a carpenter, a Christian, and owned Lighthouse Construction. He didn't need to show clients with house problems how cool he was, he advertised his affiliation with one small cross in his flyers, something you might not notice if you were casually reading.
Siding can be okay, but the construction has to be solid and sealed, or you get hornets and birds nesting in it.
