anyone ever think of picking up where lpb left off?
i have long had the idea for a low power Nautel like series of quality AM and FM transmitters for radiating cable FM and carrier current / Part 15.219 AM.
they would be dsp based remote monitored and controlled via IP just like the Nautel GV series.
you could see modulation, antenna tunining status, input / output power and be able to remote control these parameters.
we could certify the transmitters for lpfm, part 15 am and full power part 73 use.
i think there is a market for carrier current am and post sunset / pre sunrise am transmitter gear for use in part 73 am stations.
we would need a program developer, and a rf design engineer and someone fluent in audio processor technology as i would like to include a 5 band DSP anyone ever think of picking up where lpb left off?

we would need a program developer, and a rf design engineer and someone fluent in audio processor technology as i would like to include a 5 band DSP Based audio processor nrsc limiter in the transmitter.
these would be high quality for broadcast and part 15 use and i would also like to include a GPS syncing / clustering ability as well.
the system could be scaleable, you buy the features you want and the price point for a complete system would be cheaper than a similar system comprising of separate purchased components.
i have been toying with this idea for a year or so now.
i just don't have the background or requisite knowledge to attempt to implement such a project from scratch.
we could redefine the part 15 industry with a cheap feature packed part 15 transmitter package.
i'm looking at a cost for a part 15.219 am transmitter with a complete set of features (GPS, Auto ATU, 5 Band Processing, IP Monitoring and Control, Etc) that is in the $1200.00-$1500.00 a unit ball park.
