Very Useful Grounding Facts
Excellent information from Druid Hills Radio!
After reading Part 1 I already know more than I knew about proper grounding.
Now, on to Part 2.

Interesting read, and the comments following were of interest too. Lately I've been running my transmitter atop the roof next door ungrounded at all.. I figured what the hell, at least it's legal. But perhaps I'm just being haphazard. I recently re-read some old threads where Hamilton had commented saying a proper ground is of up most importance to the operation and saftey of his transmitters.
Not sure what to do due to the three meter problem.

It's In the Definitions
One part of the argument that fascinates me... oh wait... I am responding to End80 Radio's statement where he says: "Not sure what to do due to the three meter problem."
That's for sure. Alright, the part of the problem that runs around in my head is the crucial difference between a "ground lead" and a "ground".
As the article on grounding said, "ground" does not always mean "earth". No? That's where it gets promising... establishing a ground that isn't in the earth.
That's the way to step beyond the 3-meter rule... make a ground that isn't a ground lead!
It's easy to say.

Not much, here's a rough idea: Thanks. At least you're covering the watering holes LOL! Why did you leave the pier?

The install was illegal. The pier has an elaborate grounding system which I had utilized which far exceeds the 3 meter limit.. I'm not actually not sure just how far the signal went, but on the next island over at the dump about 7 miles away. I turned on the radio and it was coming through as clear and strong as a bell.

Pretty impressive. Salt water helps I am sure. There is an AM station in St. Pete where both towers are grounded in the Tampa Bay.
