KDX Is a Sanctuary Station
KDX welcomes listeners from everywhere in the world.
There is never a wall, no airport security, no border checks, no stop and frisks.
As Eric Hoffer said, "Rudeness is a weak imitation of strength."
As Mark Twain said, "No generalities are entirely true, not even this one."

The name Eric Hofer rang a bell, but I couldn't place it. So I ran a search and the first link I click turns up in synchronicity of an earlier thread.. a bartender dealing with a rude customer: www.marinij.com/article/NO/20151031/FEATURES/151039981Oh, and the article does briefly reveal that Eric Hofer was a philosopher and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient.

Twain on Twacks
One of my fave writers... Eric Hoffer... was an itinerant worker and longshoreman who said he preferred the menial labor because he could do it while thinking his own thoughts...
During his time off he hung out in libraries where he educated himself and learned to write.
He wrote books that are still very popular and I sometimes re-read.
One that rings absolutely true right now is titled "The True Believer" which gives a map-like explanation of the personality types and the mental-state of everything from people who get involved in political mass-movements to religious zealotry.
Another good one is "The Ordeal of Change"... which I think I will walk over to the bookshelf right now and pick a quote from... wait here...
Here we go... page 93 from the Chapter: The Playful Mood...
My feeling is that the tendency to carry youthful characteristics into adult life, which renders man perpetually immature and unfinished, is at the root of his uniqueness in the universe, and is particularly pronounced in the creative individual.
Is that not a perfect description of the part 15 man?

I believe I've read numerous excerpt of his before but never any of his books. I'll have to keep a look out for them in the bookshelves.
